For those of you that couldn't make it to just concluded African Movie Academy Award (AMAA) ceremony held in Yenegoa some days back you really missed a lot,but don't worry I'll be kind enough to tell you exactly what happened.
For some months now Clarion Chukwura and Ibinabo Fiberesima have been at loggerheads with each other. Reasons been that Clarion Chukwura planned to run down the office of Ibinabo Fiberesima, and Ibinabo Fiberesima happens to be the incumbent President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN.
Surprisingly, these two fellows greeted each other with smile in their faces as Ibinabo Fiberesima quickly rushed and assist Clarion Chukwura to climb the stage for her award as Best African Actress. Fiberesima really showed readiness for reconciliation because when Clarion was making acceptance speech Fiberesima identified with Clarion in her victory to the surprise of most persons that are aware of the feud between them. At some other time too,Fiberesima was seen raising hands and showing happiness towardds her colleague.
I guess this is a planned arrangement by AGN to bring these two together again during AMAA.
What do you think of this?
Ibinabo, Clarion Chukwura cease fire on AMAA stage
By BENJAMIN NJOKU
Another interesting happening that will linger in the minds of those that graced this year’s AMAA was the deliberate attempt by the organisers to bring the two warring actresses, Ibinabo Fiberesima and Clarion Chukwura together for the first time.
Before
the awards ceremony, Fiberesima who is the incumbent President of the
Actors Guild of Nigeria,AGN, and veteran actress, Clarion Chukwura were
seeming enemies. The two were at loggerheads for months, following the
latter’s intention to run down the former’s leadership of the actors’
body.
But at this year’s AMAA, the warring actresses showed their readiness to end the feud. Surprisingly, while Clarion Chukwura climbed the stage to receive her award as the Best Actress in Africa, Ibinabo was quick to identify with her victory.
She was seen nodding her head in agreement, while Chukwura was presenting her acceptance speech to the surprise of many who have been following their face-off as reported in the media.
At other time, Ibinabo was also sighted raising her hands and showing solidarity to the actress who has frequently accused her of using the platform of the guild to advance her personal interest. Chukwura could not be contacted for her reaction, but it was certain that Ibinabo has shown her readiness to make peace with the star of “Apaye.”
