Fifty, executively produced by Mo Abudu, has gone into the annals of history as the biggest film premiere in the country. The Oscar-winning premiere was held at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos on December 13 2015 with a lot of very important dignitaries drawn across corporate and social Nigeria.
The premiere made a classic statement with the funfair that accompanied the birth of a new movie to the Nigerian movie industry. The red carpet had international media present such as Vogue, Ebony, Essence which shows the international acceptability of the movie and Nigerian media were not left out of the coverage. There were musical performances from the King of Juju music, King Sunny Ade; Waje; and Tiwa Savage while dinner was served.
Another feature of the premiere was the Mystique Lounge. The lounge is an all exclusive experience available to the special guests and official sponsors. The guests were offered a selection of complimentary luxury items. These luxury bags are a departure from the norm. This afforded the guests the opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of luxury shopping at no cost.
Thereafter the premiere, the party train moved over to the Old Skool after Party with DJ Jimmy Jatt where the fun continued. The party was a celebration with those who are at the verge of clocking fifty and those who have attained the golden age.
The event had dignitaries such as Mrs Toyin Saraki, Wife of the Senate President; Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister for Information, Arts and Culture; Mr Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation; Mr Atedo Peterside, Former Chairman of Stanbic IBTC Bank; Mr Donald Duke, Former Governor of Cross River State; Sen. Florence Ita-Giwa, Former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
