[B! News!]: Nigerian Stars that gave back to the society.

 

Uche Jombo
Uche Jombo was born in Abiriba in Abia state on the 28th of December 1979. She is a product of University of Calabar where she studied Math & Statistics. Jombo had earlier on bagged a diploma in Computer programming at the Federal university of Technology, Minna in Niger state. Jombo was discovered as an awesome Act in 1999 with her role in Visa to hell movie. Since then, she has featured in over 200 movies.
After years of working as a Nollywood actress, the ebony black Queen and mother of one ventured into script writing and later into its production with a studio named UCHE JOMBO STUDIO created in 2012. She has co-written movies like Girls in the hood, a time to love, games men play and the celebrity. Since then, she has produced five major cinema movies and they include; damage, misplaced and some others.

Charity Project
She is big time committed to giving back to society and she is actively involved in numerous charitable activities including her continuous support for the African Children Talent Discovery Foundation (ACTDF) through her NGO uche Jombo and YOU foundation.

Awards
Jombo has received several awards which include Life Changers award, (Nollywood Personality of the Year) United Kingdom Humanitarian Award for Haiti in New York, USA, the Best Actress by AfroNolly Group in 2008 in London, England. The City People Entertainment awards for Best Actress 2010 and one of the last but not the least are the Abriba Youth Honour of Pride Award 2010, Abriba, Abia State as well as the Abia State Honours Award 2010.

Marriage
Uche Jombo, now Uche Jombo Rodriguez has a lot to be thankful for. She celebrated her 3rd year wedding anniversary on May 16th 2015 and the couple welcomed their first child on May 28th, 2015 at a hospital in the United States.


 

Monalisa Chinda

Light Skinned beauty Queen, Monalisa Chinda was born and bred in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to an Ikwerre father and an Igbo mother. She is the first of six children. Young Mona attended Army Children’s Primary School, GRA, Portharcourt and Archdeacon Memorial Grammar School, Elelenwo also in Portharcourt. She furthered and obtained a degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Port Harcourt.
And then again in 2011, she debuted as Executive Producer in the Royal Arts Academy movie, ‘Kiss & Tell’, which was co- produced by Emem Isong and directed by Desmond Elliott.Lisa was discovered whilst still in the University in the movie titled Pregnant Virgin which she did in 1996 and after graduation in 2000, she featured in another movie titled Above the Law and has done many others since then. The dream of being a star became a reality in 2007 when she started appearing on the television soap ‘Heaven’s Gate’.
Monalisa became one of the first of four Nollywood actors to be featured on the cover of Hollywood Weekly Magazine in 2012. Even as she added becoming a publisher to her ever busy schedule, as she is the owner of the magazine known as MONALISA.

CHARITY PROJECT
Monalisa is involved in a lot of charity work and ambassador to different charity projects, even as she partners with NAFDAC and visits the Prisons to see the female Prisoners. She is the first Slum2School Ambassador of a major charity organization making a lot of waves because of its impact in the lives of children and the youths. Mona has an Arise Monalisa Foundation that she has been running for a while now and in her last birthday celebration; after her charity walk alongside her colleagues. She single-handedly sponsored 200 less privileged Children to School.
Mona has been called on several occasions to speak to women on domestic violence; a subject she had always held dearly due to personal experience. She is currently working on a massive talk-show project titled You& I with Monalisa. Her aim is to try her best to see the end of domestic violence in our society. She plans to provide a platform for other women who have gone through domestic violence so they can voice out and be healed.

Awards/recognition
Monalisa was crowned the Face of Port Harcourt – Carnival Queen, in her hometown of Rivers State in 2011. She was nominated for Best Actress in a drama series at the Terracotta TV and Film Awards in 2010. Best Actress, Afro Hollywood Award 2009 at the Monte Carlo Television Festival.


 

Tuface
Multiple award- winning Artiste, Innocent Idibia aka Tuface was born and bred in Jos, Plateau state on September 18th, 1975, he relocated to Lagos alongside BlackFace in 1996. The duo had finished their programme at the Institute of Management Studies, IMT in Enugu. Tuface was later discovered from the Plantashun Boyz, a trio group which included BlackFace (Augustine Obiabo), Faze (Chibuzor Orji) and him.
Plantashun Boyz were the first trio group to survive the era of new Musicians in the Nigerian Music Industry. They released and sold out two albums before disbanding in 2004. His hit song AFRICAN QUEEN was used as a sound track for the movie titled Phat Girls in 2006 and it was released internationally.
Again in 2010, he became the first Nigerian Artiste to have an approximately priced international album edition titled The Unstoppable international edition. Tuface has impacted in so many ways in the Nigerian scene and music industry to the extent that he has won several awards and still counting.

Awards
He bagged a Sound City Award, Channel O Music award, Sound City Music Video Award, Channel O Music Video Award, MTV Africa Music Award for Best Male and Artiste of the year. In 2009, he was appointed an Ambassador by NAFDAC and so many more.

Business Projects
Tuface has majorly invested in hospitality business; he is the owner of all the Rumors Clubs in Lagos state and wishes to own more in and out of Lagos.

Charity Project
He has an NGO known as Tuface Idibia Reach out Foundation. The Foundation is conceived to among other things assist indigent patients access quality health care irrespective of their ethnicity or religious background which was created in 2009. He takes pride in featuring in upcoming artiste video without appearance fee.

Marriage
Tubaba finally tied the nuptial knot in 2013 to his long time girl friend and baby mama, Annie Macauley. The white wedding was done in a magnificent and amazing place in Dubai. The celebrity couple are today blessed with a second child.

The society is still expecting more from famous stars in Nigeria to reach out to the less privilege of which this is a sure way of making this land a better place.
